Stories from North Africa: A Soprano’s Tale

Artist-in-residence Tracy Fehr, a lyric coloratura soprano, will present an informal noon-hour concert of songs, stories and reflections. Join Tracy for a glimpse into her journeys to Tunisia and enjoy a sampling of music from benefit concerts presented in Canada, the UK and Tunisia. Hear the stories of single mothers and women at risk in Tunisia and learn about ACT’s livelihood project which helps to educate, train, and set up small home-based businesses for at risk women, often saving them from prostitution and abandoning their babies. And be inspired by the lives of saints who have been influential in Tracy’s faith journey and ministry.

A classical recitalist, Tracy is equally at home at the piano or singing a cappella and this concert will offer a rich tapestry of songs from 12th century Hildegarde von Bingen to 20th century Spirituals to an a cappella version of the Flower Duet! Joining Tracy will be her daughter, Jessica Fehr, a classically trained soprano and Regent alumnus.

About Tracy Fehr

Tracy has held numerous performances in Canada, Central America, North Africa and the UK. She performs with orchestras and chamber ensembles, and as a solo recitalist.
