Call to Worship

From the First Nations Version, An Indigenous Translation of the New Testament 2021, Intervarsity Press

O Great Spirit, our Father from above,
we honor your name as sacred and holy.

Bring your good road to us,
where the beauty of your ways in the world above
is reflected in the earth below.

Provide for us day by day--
the elk, the buffalo, and the salmon.
The corn, the squash, and the wild rice.
All the things we need for each day.

Release us from the things we have done wrong,
in the same way we release others for the things done wrong to us.

Guide us away from the things that tempt us to stray from your good road,
and set us free from the evil one and his worthless ways.

Aho! May it be so!

Lord of All the Nations

Lyrics: David Montgomery (Regent Alumnus) | Music: “Sally Gardens” traditional Irish melody

O Lord of all the nations you’ve brought us to this place
You’ve granted us each other as symbols of your grace
Like those who walked in darkness we’ve seen the rising sun
A pilgrim path pursuing a holy quest begun

You purify our passions you loose the ties that bind
You soften stony spirits you lighten troubled minds
You enter our emotions untangle webs of pain
You touch us with your finger and we are whole again

Lord be our friend and mentor whatever lies ahead
Your love is our refreshment your will our daily bread
Until we taste your glory until we are made new
Within each one engender an appetite for You

O all-consuming fire come melt these hearts of stone
Lord wrestle with our spirits until You reign alone
Disperse us through the nations transforming grace to tell
And let this brief sojourning become our Peniel

“So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, ‘It is because I saw God
face to face, and yet my life was spared." Gen. 32:30

EUROPE

Prayer prompts offered by Sandra Park, Sarah Kurbjuweit, and John Davies

During this time, you are invited to pray in silence for Europe, using the prompts offered below.

Pray for wisdom and insight of political leaders, scientists and doctors as Spain, and other countries in Europe, seek to move into life beyond the pandemic.

Pray for the thousands of homeless people in Barcelona. Numbers have increased since the pandemic and many people are dying in the streets for many different reasons: overdose, sickness, age, and some even murdered. Pray not only for more resources such as more shower facilities, shelters, and soup kitchens, but also for the churches in the city to have more active involvement in this issue.

For wisdom in responding to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

For peace in cases of violence against police and hate speech in Germany.

For unity in German churches which are dividing / separating over leadership.

Give thanks for organizations in the UK who are seeking developing resources to help disciple new believers coming from Muslim backgrounds.

Many countries in Europe are truly post-Christian. Christian remnants are small and often marginalized. Pray for churches across Europe that are seeking to trust and speak of Christ amidst growing secularization.

Pray for governments and churches to be committed to continue their welcome of refugees and asylum seekers.

Hear our Praises

©1999 Music and Lyrics: Reuben Morgan. Hillsong Publishing

May our homes be filled with dancing
May our streets be filled with joy
May injustice bow to Jesus
As the people turn to pray

From the mountains to the valleys
Hear our praises rise to You
From the heavens to the nations
Hear our singing fill the air

May Your light shine in the darkness
As we walk before the cross
May Your glory fill the whole earth
As the water o'er seas
