Introduction

Call to Worship

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me bring love
Where there is offence, let me bring pardon
Where there is discord, let me bring union

Open Up

© 2010 The Brilliance Music

You heard the cry of our hearts
And you came down
Freely you gave us your love
Showing us how

Make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
   Where there is darkness
   Let me shine light and

May your love cause us to open up
Cause us to open up our hearts
   May your light
Cause us to shine so bright
   That we bring hope
   Into the dark

All that we do without love
It means nothing
Grant us the courage to give
As you’re calling

Hope for the hopeless
Your love is
Strength in our weakness
Your love is
May we love as you love

May your love cause us to open up
Cause us to open up our hearts

They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love

© 1966 Peter Scholtes

We are one in the Spirit we are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit we are one in the Lord
And we pray that all unity may one day be restored

And they’ll know we are Christians
By our love by our love
Yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love

We will walk with each other we will walk hand in hand
We will walk with each other we will walk hand in hand
And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land

We will work with each other we will work side by side
We will work with each other we will work side by side
And we’ll guard each one’s dignity and Christ will abide

All praise to the Father from whom all things come
And all praise to Christ Jesus his only Son
And all praise to the Spirit who makes us one

Prayers of the People

All Creatures of Our God and King

© Public Domain Saint Francis of Assisi

All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
O praise him! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
O praise him! O praise him!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

People and nations take your part
Love and forgive with all your heart
O praise him! Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear
Trust God and on him cast your care
O praise him! O praise him!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless
And worship him in humbleness
O praise him! Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son
And praise the Spirit, Three-in-One,
O praise him! O praise him!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia

We Trust the Story

© 2017 Tom Wuest

We trust the story behind us
The beauty, hope, and love
And we’re stepping towards the future
With abiding faith in God

   God is with us
   God is with us
   God is with us
   A pillar through the night

We wait with senses ready
For the blossoms yet to come
Like the tender shoots on the hillside
We are reaching towards the sun

Scripture | Ephesians 2:11-22

11 So then, remember that at one time you Gentiles by birth, called
“the uncircumcision” by those who are called “the circumcision”—a
physical circumcision made in the flesh by human hands—
12 remember that you were at that time without Christ, being aliens
from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants
of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been
brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one
and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between
us.
15 He has abolished the law with its commandments and ordinances,
that he might create in himself one new humanity in place of the
two, thus making peace,
16 and might reconcile both groups to God in one body through the
cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it.
17 So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and
peace to those who were near;
18 for through him both of us have access in one Spirit to the
Father.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are
citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God,
20 built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with
Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
21 In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a
holy temple in the Lord;
22 in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling
place for God.

Your Peace Will Make Us One

© 2019 Audrey Assad

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
You are speaking truth to power, you are laying down our swords
Replanting every vineyard 'til a brand new wine is poured
Your peace will make us one

I've seen you in our home fires burning with a quiet light
You are mothering and feeding in the wee hours of the night
Your gentle love is patient, you will never fade or tire
Your peace will make us one

   Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
   Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
   Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Your peace will make us one

In the beauty of the lilies, you were born across the sea
With a glory in your bosom that is still transfiguring
Dismantling our empires 'til each one of us is free
Your peace will make us one

Benediction
