Introduction to Theological English
This course is designed to help ESL students read and understand theological publications written in English. Students will receive specialized teaching in understanding theological concepts with which they may not be familiar and ideas that they may not have previously thought about; comprehending new vocabulary and specialized meanings for everyday vocabulary; and interpreting complicated academic grammar and unfamiliar sentence structures. The focus of this course is on reading theological English, including the vocabulary and grammar that it is necessary to master in order to read with greater comprehension.
While ideally this course should be taken during an ESL student’s first term at Regent, students at later stages of their programs are also very welcome to take the course. It has been designed to run alongside a student’s other courses for the first ten weeks of term and is offered in both the Fall and Winter terms.
This is a non-credit course offering. The course fee is $250. It runs for ten weeks, ending on November 22, 2019.
