Listening by Design: An Orientation to Qualitative Methods

How do we listen well to people in the contexts in which we live and work? How can we gain a deeper understanding of the key issues and challenges that arise within our communities – whether in the academy, the church, or the marketplace? This orientation introduces a structured approach to these questions in its emphasis on “listening by design” through people-centered research. It is intended to help students who are considering qualitative methods in their thesis, integrative project, or other research initiatives such as the work of Regent Exchange.
