Regent College 50th Anniversary Reunion
Please note that this event was originally planned for June 27, 2020. In light of the COVID-19 situation, it has been postponed to 2021.
On July 21, 1969, while Neil Armstrong took his first steps among the craters of the moon, fifty-six eager students and seven professors were on a different (but still momentous) kind of journey. In a rented room on the UBC campus, they were neck-deep in week three of the first ever Regent Summer Programs. One small step for theological education!
A year later, in the fall of 1970, Regent formed its first regular class. Four faculty members welcomed four students, all keen to be part of this new theological experiment. That small but mighty contingent blazed a trail for many more. In the five decades since, nearly 20,000 students have joined us at Regent College.
We'll be marking 50 years of theological education with a hearty welcome to all friends of the College, old and new, at this one-day reunion taking place in Vancouver at Regent College and the Nest Building at UBC.
The Reunion will give you a chance to connect with old friends, worship with the Regent community in the Chapel, hear from current and emeritus faculty at teaching and discussion sessions, take in a variety of artistic offerings, and feast together at a closing gala banquet.
