Pastors Forum: Pastors for the Common Good

Friday, Jun 14, 2019 at 9:15AM - 11:30 AM

This event has now ended. Please view this page to see all our upcoming events.

As pastors, we long to see the people in our pews lead coherent lives as they move seamlessly from church on Sunday into the world of work on Monday. Yet, we often struggle to know how to equip them to make this connection. Co-hosted by Regent Exchange and Made to Flourish, Pastors for the Common Good is a special forum preceding our Practices of Faith in the World of Work symposium. This pre-symposium forum is for pastors and church leaders who want to explore the integration of vocation and work in their congregational life.

Tom Nelson, president of Made to Flourish, will share his story as a pastor who struggled to connect faith with the everyday lives of his congregation. Tom will be joined by Isaac Wardell, director of the Porter's Gate Worship Project, in a panel discussion about thoughtful worship practices that support and honour an integrated theology of vocation and work.

Coffee and tea will be available when registration begins at 8:45am. Snacks will be provided during a morning break. Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of Tom Nelson’s newest book, The Economics of Neighborly Love.

Registration: $20.

If you are interested in delving further into issues of faith and work, we invite you to join us for two additional events at Regent College from June 14–15. The first is a two-day conference entitled The Practices of Faith in the World of Work. The second is an evening of sacred music with Porter's Gate, featuring Audrey Assad and Isaac Wardell.
