Since 2000, Mennonite Jazz Committee (MJC) has been entertaining audiences throughout the Lower Mainland with their exciting arrangements of jazz standards, hymn tunes and originals. Their style is best described as energetic, swinging and interactive. In 2004 they were guest artists on Brian Doerksen’s Today CD and live DVD.
MJC have two recordings to date. Unexpected (2004) features beloved jazz standards and an original composition. Dawn of Grace (2007) is a collection of modern arrangements of timeless Christmas carols. The latter has received airplay on CBC Radio as well as a Covenant Award nomination for Seasonal Album of the Year in 2008.
