The Use of Israel's Scriptures in the New Testament

How should we understand the New Testament's use of Israel’s Scriptures, especially passages that seem to disregard context or use allegory? Rather than attempting to save the New Testament authors from such errors—a method that has contributed to a range of different strategies—we will begin an examination of these passages with the central concern of the Scriptures, namely, the revelation of God's faithful saving character through the person of Christ.

Live Online and Recorded: This course is being offered live online in Summer 2021. In order to support students who are unable to attend a class session or who wish to review course content, recordings of each class will also be made available, to all students, on the course Moodle page for 48 hours.

Note: Due to low on-campus enrollment in the summer term, all on-campus options for Regent College's Summer Session (June 21–July 30) have been cancelled. This course will continue to be accessible via Zoom.
