Your Campus Wide Login (CWL) gives you access to many benefits, including the U-Pass program, UBC online resources, and more. Here's how to set it up.

Your Campus Wide Login

The Campus Wide Login (CWL) is separate from the Regent Login, and is maintained by UBC’s IT department. All Regent students are eligible for an Affiliate CWL.

You must set up your CWL in order to:

  • Get a UBCcard and access the benefits it unlocks (e.g., U-Pass use, access to certain UBC facilities)
  • Access UBC library resources (book check-out and online databases)
  • Access UBC online services and computer labs
  • Access the eduroam wireless network

Note: If you're a UBC alum, please do not use your previous UBC CWL. Create a brand new Affiliate CWL instead.

Find Your UBC ID

Regent College is an affiliate of the University of British Columbia. As a Regent student, you are automatically assigned a UBC ID number. You will need your UBC ID number to create a CWL.

You can find your UBC ID in REGIS. After you login, look at the bottom of the column containing your profile information. Your UBC ID is an 8-digit number.

Set Up Your CWL

Follow these steps to set up your Affiliate CWL. (If you are a UBC alum, please see this additional information before you get started.)

  1. Close any UBC webpages that are open on your device.

  2. Go to the Affiliate section of UBC's How to Create an Account page and review the criteria for your CWL Login Name, Password, and Security Questions.

  3. Under Step 2 on the How to Create an Account page, click on the CWL Account Upgrader link.

  4. You'll be offered a variety of ways to log in. Select Login with SecureLink.

  5. On the next screen, select Student, Applicant, External Student Portal.

  6. Enter the email address associated with your REGIS account, your 8-digit UBC ID (called "Student Number" on this form), and the Captcha code.

  7. Check your email for a message from "UBC Identity Broker (SecureLink) <[email protected]>" and follow the link provided.

    • Note: You must open this link (a) within 15 minutes and (b) in the same browser window you used to request the link. If you don't open the link in time, you can fill out the form again to request a new one.

  8. Follow the prompts and on-screen instructions and verify your email address.

  9. Select your CWL Login Name, Password, and Security Questions, and click Finish to complete.

UBC Alumni

If you have attended UBC and already have a CWL, please follow the steps above to upgrade to an Affiliate CWL. Your student profiles at UBC will need to be merged so that your CWL will be associated with your Regent profile. Otherwise UBC will not be able to verify your eligibility for the U-Pass or any other access.

If you encounter issues loading your U-Pass or accessing UBC's online library, you may need to seek help from UBC's IT department.

  1. Sign in to CWL myAccount with your UBC CWL.
  2. Scroll down to the Affiliations box. If you don't see your UBC ID shown as an affiliate_number, contact UBC's IT helpdesk. They will merge your student profiles for you.
