Learning as Transformation: Nurturing Faith in a Global Context

This course is also offered as INDS 642

We often lament the lack of transformed lives in the people God has called us to serve - despite the rich wealth of knowledge we have at our disposal, even more so in our information-saturated age. This course provides a vision for how God has designed people to change with a focus on learning as holistic transformation. Grounded in an integrated and contextual understanding of whole life learning, we will examine the role of the imagination, embodiment, dialogue, and critical reflection. We will take a fresh look at some of the assumptions and contextual considerations underlying educational ministry and spiritual formation. Blending interdisciplinary perspectives, theological reflection, research-based principles, and intercultural perspectives, this course offers insights and practical application for anyone interested in nurturing transformational learning within church-based, organizational, and institutional ministry contexts.
