Robert Yarbrough

Dr. Yarbrough taught previously at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (1996-2010), Wheaton College (1987-91), and Liberty University (1985-87). He has been involved in theological education in Muslim Africa since 1989 and in Eastern Europe since 1990. He has served on pastoral staffs in Montana, Missouri, North Carolina, and Illinois. He is author of 1-3 John (2008) in the Baker Exegetical Commentary Series, which he co-edits. He also co-edits the commentary series Exegetical Guide to the New Testament. With Walter Elwell he authored the widely used textbook Encountering the New Testament (3rd ed. 2013), which has been translated into numerous languages. He has coached high school and American Legion baseball and worked professionally as a lumberjack in Montana and Idaho.
