Professor Marsden has taught history at Calvin College, Duke University Divinity School, and the University of Notre Dame. His books include Fundamentalism and American Culture, The Soul of the American University, The Outrageous Idea of Christian Scholarship, Jonathan Edwards: A Life, and The Twilight of the American Enlightenment: The 1950s and the Crisis of Liberal Belief (New York: Basic Books) is forthcoming in 2014. He is currently working on a book about C. S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity.
