Academic Writing

Writing is a vital academic skill. It forms the basis for evaluating a student’s grasp of material; it facilitates the learning process. This course is designed to help students research and write papers that will be required during their course of study at Regent. The students will receive instruction in reading and thinking critically and in improving their writing skills. The course is especially appropriate for those who have a technical (rather than an arts) background, those who are returning to formal study after some years, and for Internationals who have a command of English but lack experience in English writing. During the semester, students may participate in one-on-one tutorials that will focus on individual problems and concerns.

This is a non-credit course. In Winter 2015 we will meet Friday, Jan. 16, from 1:00–4:00 pm, and on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The cost for the course is $35.
