Lunchtime Concert: Doe Bender
The "Green on Blue" trio is Doe Bender on keyboards and vocals, Mark Bender on acoustic bass, and Bojan Bugarinovic on various guitars. They have all had many years of experience performing jazz, Latin, and contemporary music in restaurants, at corporate events, and at private functions. Some highlights for them individually would include playing at the Vancouver Jazz Festival, television work, plus a number of recording projects between them.
Something clicked when they started playing together! There is a chemistry and spontaneous energy as they go all the way from exploring the standards of the Great American Songbook to the modern sounds of Pat Metheny. They appreciate how music can capture and stimulate a wide range of emotions—and they want to continue this journey!
