This painting is part of Geoffrey Feng’s Rice Lake series, depicting the artist’s favorite lake area in North Vancouver, BC. Through his oil paintings, Feng displays his deep appreciation for nature, portraying both serene and refreshing energy through lively brushstrokes. He strives to voice his reverence, praise, and gratitude to the precious love that dwells among all creation.
Feng: “As an artist based in Vancouver, Canada, I draw inspiration from both nature and humans. This connection stems not only from my lived experiences, but also from a deep passion for seeking the truth that lies beyond the visible.
Through my work, I aim to evoke renewed reflection on the spectrum of human nature—often overlooked or forgotten—while highlighting the resilience and beauty of the gifted spirit. Each brushstroke becomes a dialogue with the past, capturing moments of struggle and loss, while also pointing toward the possibilities of healing and resolution.
My creative process is an ongoing attempt to reach transcendence through observation, meditation, and expression. I hope viewers will look beyond the surface and engage with the deeper meanings embedded in our shared world. My paintings are not only re-presentations of memory and knowledge, but also calls to recognize the broader and more solid bond between hope and faith.
Ultimately, my goal is to illuminate the richness of life and encourage reflection on the beauty and challenges we face together. Through my art, I hope to inspire a sense of awareness and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the truth and even a determination of commitment that transcends time and space.”
