Regent invites alumni and friends in the Seattle area to join us on the evening of Saturday, November 7, for a lecture with Dr. George Guthrie. And please join us after the lecture for light refreshments and an opportunity to catch up with George and other Regent folks. We look forward to an enjoyable and thought-provoking evening together. About the Lecture

The Beauty of the Old Testament in the New: How the New Testament Authors Read Their Bible

The New Testament overflows with approximately 250 overt quotations and over 1,000 allusions to the Old Testament. These appropriations of the older Jewish writings were crafted by the first followers of Jesus to comment on the grand story of Scripture, the identity and work of Jesus himself, the mission of God’s people, and the nature of the gospel. Join us as we explore the beauty, power, and sophistication of the New Testament authors' readings of their Bible.

Time: Saturday, November 7 | 7–9 pm

Location: University Presbyterian Church, 4540 15th Ave NE, Seattle, WA

Arrival/Parking: Free parking is available in the church's North & West lots (across the street). Enter through NW glass doors on 15th Avenue; the event will take place in the Calvin Lounge. Doors open at 6:30.
