She continues long-term field research on the behaviour and ecology of birds and volunteers for habitat restoration activities at A Rocha. When not watching birds or taking out frustrations on invasive plants (a.k.a. "guerilla gardening"), Karen enjoys pondering the mystery of God's creation by evolution and reconstructing theology through a lens of some good, wholesome Anabaptist anarchy.
