Having grown up in rural Portugal, Dr. Emily Lange now lives in Bonn, Germany, working for the greater good of societies at PIRON Global Development, a faith-based consultancy specializing in international development cooperation. PIRON advises and supports several faith-based NGOs in strategy and organization development, diplomacy, resource mobilization, leadership, and team building.
As an interdisciplinary researcher and contemplative scholar, Emily often likes to carve out space from her day job for deep discernment and reflection, which brought her to Regent College for a Professional-in-Residence role in Winter 2026.
Emily holds a PhD in Human Geography from University of Minho, Portugal, and a PhD in International Relations, specializing in History and Theory from NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal.
