On March 23 and 24, Dr. Meghan Sullivan will deliver Regent College's 2026 Laing Lectures. Her first lecture will discuss DELTA, a faith-based framework for ethical formation in a world of powerful AI. Learn more about the DELTA framework below, and join us in person or via livestream for tonight's lecture!

Over the past year, Meghan Sullivan has emerged as a leading voice in AI ethics. In September 2025 she launched the DELTA framework, an approach to engagement with artificial intelligence that is "rooted in enduring Christian values: Dignity, Embodiment, Love, Transcendence, and Agency."

  • Dignity speaks to the inherent worth of every human being.
  • Embodiment points us toward respect for the beauty and fragility of life in finite bodies.
  • Love calls us to prioritize compassion and embrace human relationships in all their messiness.
  • Transcendence invites awe and wonder at God's gifts that far exceed human or technological capacity.
  • Agency draws us back to the foundational importance of human responsibility in moral decision-making.

As founding director of the University of Notre Dame's Institute for Ethics and the Common Good, Dr. Sullivan is leading a $50 million+ project to develop a DELTA network, "which will provide practical resources for scholars, religious leaders, tech leaders, teachers, journalists, young people, and the broader public to help navigate challenges posed by rapidly developing AI."
