About the Artist
Roy Henry Vickers, CM OBC, is a world-renowned Canadian First Nations printmaker, painter, carver, designer, and author, born in Greenville, BC. After studying traditional artmaking at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art in Ksan, BC, he opened the Roy Henry Vickers Gallery in Tofino, BC, in 1986 (the year after making this work), inspired by the architecture of his ancestors.
