Technical Services Librarian
Full-time, permanent
Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Technical Services Librarian of the John Richard Allison Library at Regent College is responsible for cataloguing and physical processing of all collections, maintaining the library management system, and data analysis.
The salary range for this position is $49,500-$52,900.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cataloguing and classification

- Catalogue, classify, and organize all materials in the library collections regardless of language or format, including rare books and special collections
- Edit and input data to digital library management system in accordance with established cataloging practices
- Manage donated materials
- Oversee activities related to physical and electronic periodicals, including making recommendations regarding the acquisition/de-acquisition of periodicals
- Physical processing and care for collections

- Oversee the processing of all materials in the library collections
- Oversee all binding and book repair activities, including recommending books for replacement
- Oversee systematic and ongoing inventories, weeding, and shifting of collections
- Other relevant duties:
- Analyze data and produce necessary reports
- Exercise responsibility for effective and efficient use of library management system
- Supervise student workers
- Provide coverage for circulation desk
Qualifications
- Understand and support the ethos and mission of Regent College as articulated in the Theological Position
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. A diploma in library technology and subject knowledge of theology is preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with metadata
- Demonstrated ability in cataloguing and classification of library materials
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and clerical skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and excellent customer service skills
