About the Lecture
From the time of Jesus through the Apostolic Writings and throughout the church's history, Christians have wrestled with how to engage culture and government. The answers have ranged from strong opposition to seamless accommodation. In this lecture we will explore the biblical vision for engaging the world that is rooted in the hope of the Resurrection Age and is worked out through the church's role as a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2). We will examine alternative options such as withdrawal and warring against culture, and suggest a practical posture that focuses on teaching, inviting, and blessing the world through the Gospel invitation to true human flourishing.
