About the Lecture
In the book of Genesis, Hagar and Leah are rejected by their husbands and often overlooked by interpreters. But God sees these women, responding to their needs and elevating them to positions of honour. When Hagar is exiled, God provides for her in the wilderness and gives her promises that parallel his promises to Abraham. And although Leah is unloved, God makes her the mother of Israel’s kings and priests. Through the stories of these women, we can see how God cares for those who are marginalized and become more aware of how he may be working in our own lives.
