Regent College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Old Testament Studies to begin January 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Rank is open.
Regent College is a transdenominational graduate school of theology in the historic evangelical tradition. Advanced study of Scripture is a core component of our curriculum and Regent has a well-established history of excellence in biblical scholarship. Applicants for this position should resonate deeply with Regent’s mission (see http://www.regent-college.edu/about-us/mission-and-values), and must be able to subscribe to the College’s Theological Position comprised of a Doctrinal Statement and Moral Vision statement (see http://www.regent-college.edu/about-us/theological-position).
The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD and be able to demonstrate a publication record and competence in graduate teaching commensurate with the stage of their career. They should be able to exhibit a breadth of competency in the Old Testament, including its relation to Scripture as a whole and to Christian Theology. Further, the candidate will be committed to Regent’s ethos of interdisciplinary studies, especially with relation to faith and culture. They will have the ability and willingness to teach Old Testament courses across the curriculum as well as to supervise theses and comprehensive exams. They may also be asked to teach Hebrew language courses.
