Karen Swallow Prior
Karen Swallow Prior (PhD) is Research Professor of English and Christianity and Culture at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has published extensively on literature and religion, poetry, and contemporary culture in publications like Vox, First Things, The Atlantic, Books and Culture, Christianity Today, and more. Her latest book is On Reading Well: Finding the Good Life through Great Books (2018) and she recently co-edited Cultural Engagement: A Crash Course in Contemporary Issues (2019). Karen is a founding member of The Pelican Project and a Senior Fellow at the Trinity Forum, the International Alliance for Christian Education, and at the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. She is also a former member of the Faith Advisory Council of the Humane Society of the United States. Karen and her husband live on a hundred-year old homestead in central Virginia with sundry horses, dogs, and chickens. And lots of books.
