Call to Worship
See, I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Giver of joy,
would that we who are cynically unseeing and weary
might experience your great joy.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Gracious Savior,
would that we who feel unprepared and undeserving
might know that you have been born for us.
Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
God in heaven who has come among us,
would that we who dwell on earth
might hear and join the joyful song of angels!
Joy Has Dawned
Stuart Townend and Keith Getty | CCLI Song # 4408246
Joy has dawned upon the world
Promised from creation
God's salvation now unfurled
Hope for ev'ry nation
Not with fanfares from above
Not with scenes of glory
But a humble gift of love
Jesus born of Mary
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Sounds of wonder fill the sky
With the songs of angels
As the mighty Prince of Life
Shelters in a stable
Hands that set each star in place
Shaped the earth in darkness
Cling now to a mother's breast
Vulnerable and helpless
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Shepherds bow before the Lamb
Gazing at the glory
Gifts of men from distant lands
Prophesy the story
Gold a King is born today
Incense God is with us
Myrrh His death will make a way
By His blood He'll win us
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Son of Adam Son of heaven
Given as a ransom
Reconciling God and man
Christ our mighty Champion
What a Savior what a Friend
What a glorious mystery
Once a babe in Bethlehem
Now the Lord of history
Gloria in excelsis Deo
Gloria in excelsis Deo

Scripture | Zechariah 9:9-12 (NIV)
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will take away the chariots from Ephraim
and the warhorses from Jerusalem,
and the battle bow will be broken.
He will proclaim peace to the nations.
His rule will extend from sea to sea
and from the River to the ends of the earth.
As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you,
I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.
Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope;
even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion

Scripture | | Philippians 4:4-9 (NRSV)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about[d] these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

George Frideric Handel and Isaac Watts | CCLI# 24016 Charles Wesley and John Darwall | CCLI# 36592
Joy to the world the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room
And heav'n and nature sing
And heav'n and nature sing
And heav'n and heav'n and nature sing
Rejoice the Lord is King
Your Lord and King adore
Mortals give thanks and sing
And triumph evermore
Lift up your heart lift up your voice
Rejoice again I say rejoice
Joy to the earth the Savior reigns
Let all their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat repeat the sounding joy
His kingdom cannot fail
He rules o'er earth and heaven
The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jesus given
Lift up your heart lift up your voice
Rejoice again I say rejoice
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders wonders of His love
Rejoice the Lord is King
Your Lord and King adore
Mortals give thanks and sing
And triumph evermore
Lift up your heart lift up your voice
Rejoice again I say rejoice
