Experiencing the Presence: Walking with God All Day Long
Course Description
How can we cultivate an attentiveness to God amid the hecticness and ever-increasing demands of contemporary life? The good news is that God delights to manifest his presence to capture our attention even within our busyness. Building on the biblical foundation of God’s omnipresence, this course embraces the psalmist’s invitation to taste and see that the Lord is good.Despite our shared hunger for God, it is important to recognize the uniqueness of each person as we consider how to develop habits of experiencing God. By reflecting on historical texts and engaging in spiritual exercises, we will survey the principles and practices of walking with God throughout the day. Throughout our exploration, we will draw on the wisdom of figures such as Brother Lawrence, Frank Laubach, Matthew Henry, C. S. Lewis, and the contemporary pastor Kisung Yoo and his Walking with Jesus Movement. We will also examine distractions and obstacles that reduce our ability to spend time with God.
Rooted in the conviction that God is always present and wants us to experience him, this course is for anyone who desires a greater awareness of God’s presence in their life.
