Intercultural Ministry
Course Description
This course examines the theological and missional dimensions of ministry across cultures. It engages biblical foundations of cultural diversity and reconciliation, explores the dynamics of culture, power, and identity in today’s ministry settings, and considers models for intercultural leadership, hospitality, conflict transformation, peacebuilding, and community formation that reflect the reconciling work of Christ. Emphasis is placed on developing cultural intelligence, humility, discerning leadership, and spiritual formation for ministry in today’s global and multicultural context.

Dr. Paul Kyu-Jin Choi serves as the Lead Pastor of Village Church in Portland, Oregon—an intercultural congregation of over a thousand members representing dozens of nationalities. He holds an MDiv from Regent College and a Doctor of Missiology from Western Seminary.
