Human beings long to flourish, to experience personal wellbeing and fruitfulness that makes a difference in the world. The Bible, as it turns out, has much to say about flourishing. So does scientific research that focuses on human health and behavior. What we learn about flourishing from Scripture and science is sometimes surprising and unexpectedly convergent. This lecture examines how biblical theology and scholarly research commend practices that promote lifelong flourishing.

Mark D. Roberts is the Executive Director of the Max De Pree Center for Leadership at Fuller Seminary and a New Testament scholar. As a pastor and non-profit leader, Mark has focused on the integration of faith and work. His most recent publication is a commentary on Ephesians.

Dr. Roberts will be teaching the course The Bible and Work: Going Broader and Deeper from July 12-16 as part of Regent's 2021 Summer Programs.
