You are warmly invited to join us for the book-launch presentation and celebration for Dr. Hans Boersma's Seeing God: The Beatific Vision in Christian Tradition (Eerdmans, 2018).
What is it that made Christians throughout the tradition look forward to seeing God face to face? Why was the beatific vision central to their spirituality? In this book launch presentation, Hans Boersma explains why the beatific vision is central to the Christian hope. Much of his new book, Seeing God, discusses earlier theologians’ views of the beatific vision. But here, Boersma will present his own dogmatic understanding—God looks us into being, and we are saved by looking back.
