Focusing on the Christian understanding of the “apocalyptic,” this lecture will address questions about why and how the arts can act prophetically in the life of the Christian. Dr. Mary McCampbell will discuss works by Flannery O’Connor, Sufjan Stevens, Douglas Coupland, Howard Finster, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, among others.
