Amenities

Regent's location on a large university campus makes it easy to access numerous amenities just minutes away from our building.

Regent College is located across the street from University Village, which has restaurants, grocery shopping, a pharmacy, an office supply store, and various other amenities. Many other eateries, shops, recreational facilities, and other convenient locations are available within a few minutes' walk.

Note: To access some UBC facilities and services you will need a UBC card. You will also need a Campus Wide Login (CWL) to access computer labs, library accounts, and other online services.

Food & Eateries

For an overview of dining and grocery shopping options on the UBC campus, visit the Food at UBC Vancouver site. (Note that businesses in University Village—located just across the street from Regent—are not included in this list.)

UBC also offers information and resources for students living on restricted budgets. Visit the university's FoodHub site to learn about a range of campus food security initiatives, as well as links to various resources around campus.

At Regent

For a quick treat between classes or something to sip while chatting with friends, visit The Mighty Oak @ the Well Café, located in the Regent College Atrium. It offers a tasty selection of coffees, teas, baked goods, and light lunches.

Groceries

There is a small grocery store across the street from Regent College in the University Village, as well as a few other specialty grocery shops elsewhere on the UBC campus (see the UBC Food page). There is a large supermarket, Save-on-Foods, a few minutes away by bus or car (about 20 minutes on foot).

Restaurants

Regent is just steps away from a wide range of culinary options. University Village hosts a variety of sit-down restaurants (ground level and second floor) as well as a food court (basement). There is another cluster of eateries about a block away in the UBC Nest building, and more lining the street on the way there.

Libraries

Regent students have access to some of the best library resources in Canada.

Regent College's John Richard Allison Library is one of the country's largest theological libraries. In addition to an extensive in-house collection and rich online resources, the library houses a collection of rare books with special strength in the area of Puritan spirituality. The library has a computer lab and several group study rooms for student use. Regent students also have reciprocal borrowing privileges at the University of British Columbia and a handful of local theological schools, as well as access to interlibrary loan services.

Regent students also have access to UBC Libraries, ensuring access to materials for a vast range of interdisciplinary research. Learn more on our UBC Resources page.

Students living in Metro Vancouver also have access to numerous public libraries. Residents of Vancouver can access the Vancouver Public Library system; other municipalities have their own public library systems. Learn about getting a library card, finding a branch near you, and more on the NewToBC website.

Lockers

Student lockers are available on the lower level of the College. A limited number of lockers are available for rent on a term by term basis. Locker rental is managed by the Student Association (RCSA) during the Fall and Winter terms and by Reception during the Spring and Summer terms. Watch for opportunities to sign up for a locker near the beginning of the term.
