Call to Worship (Based on Psalm 1:1-3)

Happy are those
    who do not follow the advice of the wicked.
Bless us, Lord;
    make us like trees planted by streams of water.

Happy are those
    who do not take the path that sinners tread.
Bless us, Lord;
    make us like trees planted by streams of water.

Happy are those
    who do not sit in the seat of scoffers;
Bless us, Lord;
    make us like trees planted by streams of water.

But their delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and on his law they meditate day and night.
Bless us, Lord;
    make us like trees planted by streams of water.

Help us to yield fruit in its season.
    Keep our leaves from withering.
    Prosper us, according to your will, in all that we do.
Bless us, Lord;
    make us like trees planted by streams of water.

We Abide, We Abide in You

Sandra McCracken | © 2017 Hymns from the Porter's Gate

We are the vineyard you have planted
Tend our leaves and wild branches
We abide, we abide in you
We abide, we abide in you

Fruit growing from our strength and labor
Rain on us with grace and favor
We abide, we abide in you
We abide, we abide in you

    Where can my soul find living water?
    Apart from you we bear no fruit!
    O plant my feet down by the river
    We abide, we abide in you

Good to Me

Audrey Assad (revised) | © 2013

I put all my hope in the truth of your promise
I steady my heart on the ground of your goodness
When I'm bowed down with sorrow I will lift up your name
And the foxes in the vineyard will not steal my joy

    Because you are good to me, good to me
    You are good to me, good to me
    You are good to me

I lift up my eyes to the hills: where is my help found?
Your voice fills the night – raise my head up to hear the sound
Though fires burn all around me, I will praise you my God
And the foxes in the vineyard will not steal my joy

Your goodness and mercy shall follow me
All my life, I’ll trust in your promise
(repeat)

Scripture | Proverbs 6:20–23 (NRSV)

My child, keep your father’s commandment,
    and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
Bind them upon your heart always;
    tie them around your neck.
When you walk, they will lead you;
    when you lie down, they will watch over you;
    and when you awake, they will talk with you.
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light,
    and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life.

Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God

Keith Getty & Stuart Townend | © 2006 Thankyou Music

Holy Spirit, living Breath of God
Breathe new life into my willing soul
Let the presence of the Risen Lord
Come renew my heart and make me whole
Cause your word to come alive in me
Give me faith for what I cannot see
Give me passion for your purity
Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me

Holy Spirit, come abide within
May your joy be seen in all I do
Love enough to cover every sin
In each thought and deed and attitude
Kindness to the greatest and the least
Gentleness that sows the path of peace
Turn my strivings into works of grace
Breath of God, show Christ in all I do

Holy Spirit, from creation's birth
Giving life to all that God has made
Show your power once again on earth
Cause your church to hunger for your ways
Let the fragrance of our prayers arise
Lead us on the road of sacrifice
That in unity the face of Christ
May be clear for all the world to see

Benediction
