Special Registration Types
Priority Enrollment Course
Most Regent courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. However, some advanced courses with a limited number of spots available grant priority enrollment to students who need the course to complete their program.
Before a term's Early Registration Deadline (see Important Dates), students who register for a priority enrollment course will be put on a waitlist. After the Early Registration Deadline, students who need the course to graduate will be admitted to the course. From that point on, students will be admitted to fill the remaining spots on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students who need priority enrollment status should be sure to register for their courses before the Early Registration Deadline.
Guided Study
A guided study allows you to focus on a particular issue under the guidance of one of the regular full-time faculty of Regent College. To register for a guided study you will need to consult with a supervising professor and then fill out and submit a Guided Study Contract (PDF) along with a course registration form (available from Reception).
Please note that only students who have been admitted to a graduate program are eligible for guided studies.
For additional information, please see the section on Guided Study under Course Information & Policies page.
Practicum
The following courses have a practicum associated with them:
- Supervised Ministry (APPL 693, APPL 694)
- Marketplace Theology Field Immersion (APPL 692)
- World Christianity Field Immersion (APPL 690)
These courses run for eight months, September through April. You need to register and pay for them in both Fall and Winter, 1.5 credit hours each term.
Final Project
To register for a final project (e.g., thesis, comprehensive exam, IPIAT, etc.), you will need to complete and submit a Final Project Form (PDF) along with a course registration form (available from Reception). Please note that final projects have special registration deadlines and refund policies.
