Life in Vancouver

Where We Are
We begin by acknowledging that Regent College sits on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. Their care and stewardship have enriched these lands and waters since time immemorial. We warmly encourage students to learn about the Musqueam people’s culture, history, and community during your time at Regent and beyond. Their official website (linked above) hosts many informative resources and is a great place to start.
A Beautiful Site
The beauty of Canada’s Pacific coast is legendary for a reason. Regent is just a short walk from breathtaking views of ocean waters, rugged mountains, and lush forest. Come at the just right time, and you might catch a truly spectacular sunset. This is a setting that inspires reflection, worship, and deep care for creation.
University of British Columbia
Regent is situated right on the edge of the UBC’s Vancouver campus. With over 50,000 students, UBC offers a huge concentration of amenities and opportunities in a small area. Regent students taking three or more credit hours per term are eligible for a number of benefits through Regent’s affiliation with UBC.
Regent’s founders were intentional about situating Regent in the context of a large university that provides immediate access to conversations happening in the wider academy and culture. We encourage you to take advantage of the rich opportunities for learning and engagement all around us at UBC.
Vancouver
Vancouver isn’t the most obvious place to study theology, but we think it’s one of the best. A key hub in trans-Pacific business, trade, and culture, Vancouver is a crossroads where people and ideas from around the world meet and mingle. As a city, it is fast-paced, future-oriented, deeply secular, and home to both incalculable wealth and intractable poverty. As a location for ministry, it invites us to explore what it means to be Christ’s hands and feet in a globalized and increasingly post-Christian context.
