About the Speakers
Andy Squyres is a singer-songwriter and writer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. His albums include Cherry Blossoms (2015), Poet Priest (2021), Miracle Service (2025), and Sacred Vows (2025). Andy is the author of many essays, several of which have been published in his beautifully produced, 3-volume book series Poet Priest Magazine. He is also the subject of the documentary film The Many Disappointments of Andy Squyres (2024).
Jonathan A. Anderson is the Eugene and Jan Peterson Associate Professor of Theology and the Arts and the head of the Christianity and the Arts concentration at Regent College. His scholarship explores the interrelations of art history, theology, and religious studies, with a particular focus on modern and contemporary art. He is the author of The Invisibility of Religion in Contemporary Art (2025), Modern Art and the Life of a Culture: The Religious Impulses of Modernism (with William Dyrness, 2016), and many articles and book chapters on related topics.
