Introductory OT Hebrew I
Course Description
This is the first half of introductory Hebrew. The aim of this course is to lay the groundwork for a lifetime of reading the Old Testament in its original language. Together, we’ll learn and practice the basic vocabulary, morphology (word forms), and syntax (use of words to form sentences) of biblical Hebrew. Through reading, writing, listening, speaking, and acting, we’ll deepen our connections to the language to sustain long-term retention and fluency of reading.| Offered | 2026 Summer |

Andrew Zack “Drew” Lewis has taught Hebrew, biblical studies, and theology in four different countries. He currently teaches biblical languages and Old Testament at Regent College. His most recent book is Approaching Job (Cascade, 2017). His current research interests include the book of Job and the function and meaning of trees in the Old Testament.
