Mission & Development in a Changing World (Seminar)
Course Description
How can community development contribute to the Missio Dei in our contemporary global context? What is the role of the church in poverty alleviation? How do we understand holistic ministry and what are the implications for the church’s call to reconciliation? How does theology inform our understanding and practice of international development? This seminar provides an opportunity for students to explore a multi-disciplinary yet integrated approach to poverty, development, mission, and the church. Topics include: theological perspectives on poverty; worldview impact on development; the role and responsibility of the church; strategies for poverty alleviation; and discussion of relevant issues and case studies.| Offered | 2026 Winter |
