Applying as an International Student

Application Process
The initial application process for international students is the same as our process for Canadian students. Your admissions counsellors are here to walk you through the application and study permit process. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Helpful Tips
1. Apply Early
The application and study permit process can take some time to complete. We recommend starting your application well in advance of the semester in which you want to start your studies. Please review our Application Timeline page for application deadlines. We can accept applications after the deadline, but any delay could affect your eligibility to be considered for financial aid, your study permit application, or your start date.
2. Use BorderPass to Apply for your Study Permit
When we approve your application, we will send you a letter of admission, visa letters, and a confirmation form. After you receive your letter of admission, you must apply for a study permit from the Government of Canada. Regent College has partnered with BorderPass to help you secure your study permit and begin your academic journey as part of the Regent community. BorderPass is a secure online platform that walks you through the study permit application process, including review by Canadian immigration lawyers prior to filing your application, to help increase the likelihood of a successful study permit application.
- Study permit information from the Government of Canada
- Current processing times by visa offices outside of Canada
- Apply for your study permit
3. Apply for Financial Aid
Financial Aid Applications become available around the middle of January each year, and are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. That means it's important to submit your Financial Aid Application as soon as possible. Your Financial Aid Application will not be considered until you are admitted to a program of study, so complete your application for admission by January 1 if you intend to apply for financial aid for the coming academic year.
International students are eligible for most of the scholarships awarded by Regent College. There are also many external organizations that offer scholarships to international students. Contact your admissions counsellor for more information about financial aid and scholarships.
