Before You Begin
From the very beginning, the Regent College community has been enriched by the presence and contributions of students from all over the world. Our goal is to see international students thriving as part of our student body, and we would love to welcome you here!
Your Admissions Counsellor, Cheryl Wong Miklós, is here to help you every step of the way. If you haven’t already, contact her at [email protected] or 1-604-221-3380. She is your best resource as you prepare to become a student at Regent.
Application & Admission Process
Your first step is to start the application process. In addition to our online application, you will need to send transcripts from all your post-secondary studies, and you may be required to take an English proficiency test. These may take some time, so it is wise to start the application process as soon as possible.
Applying for a Study Permit
Once you’re admitted, we will send you all the documents you need to apply for a study permit from the Canadian government. Every international student in a degree or diploma program is required to have a study permit before starting their on-campus courses. In addition to the Regent College acceptance letter, your study permit application will need to demonstrate that you have adequate financial resources to pay for your tuition and living expenses in Canada.
Other Study Options
- You may take up to 12 credits without being formally admitted into a degree program. As long as you are not in a degree program, you do not need a study permit. (The credits can be applied to a degree program at a later date.) However, you will still need to apply for a visitor’s visa if you want to take a course on campus.
- If you are at least 23 years old or have a bachelor’s degree, you may audit courses at Regent College. This means you don’t have to do the homework, don’t get credit for the course, and pay less. However, you will still need a visitor’s visa to attend classes on the Regent campus.
- Studying online allows you to take courses at your own pace and in your own environment while you continue other aspects of your calling. Regent doesn't offer any program that can be completed entirely online (though the MALTS program requires only two 2-week sessions on campus per year), but if you’re admitted to a program, you can complete up to half of your required credits online.
