The Book of Proverbs: Developing Wisdom in a Complicated World

Jul 18–Jul 22 8:30AM–11:30AM BIBL 588 1–2 Credits (1 Audit)

Read and interpret the book of Proverbs in its original context while uncovering its lasting significance for faith and practice today. Study and grasp the contents of the book while learning the principles of interpretation (hermeneutics) that grant access to meaning. Proverbs’ purpose is to make its readers wise on a practical, ethical, and theological level. But becoming wise involves more than just learning the content in Proverbs—it includes reading people and culture. With that in mind, we'll bridge horizons, learning from the book's wisdom in its original setting and applying its lessons to our complicated world today.
