Christology & Discipleship in Mark's Gospel

Course Description

In this course, we will embark on a journey through the Gospel of Mark, unraveling the narrative portrayal of Jesus (Christology) and the profound implications of following him (discipleship). Our primary focus will be on Mark's interpretation and application of the Servant motif from the book of Isaiah. This pervasive motif serves as a powerful bridge to connect Christology and discipleship. Throughout the course, you will acquire valuable hermeneutical principles to enable you to navigate biblical narrative and scriptural usage with depth and precision. You will emerge from the course with not only with a deeper grasp of Mark's content and theological perspective, but also a heightened comprehension of Mark's portrayal of Jesus and enduring significance of following him.
