Showcase: 50 Years of Regent

This short documentary covers highlights from the 50-year adventure of Regent College. Part 1 looks at Regent's roots in the tumultuous atmosphere of the late 1960s, as some of the College's founders reflect on the vision that brought a group of laypeople together to create a new kind of theology school. Part 2 follows Regent's story as it grows into an international community, takes up residence under the green roof, and continues to transform the lives of students from around the world.

Showcase: Tributes

The Regent community was delighted to honour some of our founders and other luminaries during our anniversary celebrations. This collection includes extended conversations with Jim Houston, Laurel Gasque, and Carl and Betsy Armerding, plus messages for Sven Soderlund on the occasion of a Festschrift in his honour.

Showcase: Reunion Highlights

Catch the best of the reunion, including talks from our keynote speakers (René Breuel, Sarah Breuel, and Dr. Mark Noll), musical reflections, fun times with faculty, and more.

"O Lord of All the Nations," by David Montgomery

Referenced by Sarah Breuel in her reunion talk, “O Lord of All the Nations” was written by alumnus David ‘Monty’ Montgomery (MDiv ’95) for a Taste of the World performance during his time at Regent. You can find this song (and many others), on the album Pilgrim Path, available through Regent Audio.

A Gift to Regent College

The Saint John's Bible

In 1998, Saint John’s Abbey and University commissioned renowned calligrapher Donald Jackson to produce a hand-written, hand-illuminated Bible. Thanks to the generosity of Julie Hindmarsh, Regent College has been gifted one of the 299 limited edition sets. The Saint John’s Bible is presented to Regent College in honour of founding father, James M. Houston, on the occasion of Regent’s 50th anniversary.

“Through friendship, Jim illuminated the Scriptures to countless students. With gratitude … Julie Hindmarsh.”
