World Christianity

Regent College's work of cultivating intelligent, vigorous, and joyful commitment to Jesus Christ, His church and His world isn’t a small, local mission. It is big and bold and beautiful to be a part of.

An International Student Body

Each year, about 275 students come to Regent from outside Canada and the US. Last year, that meant we had students from thirty-five different countries!

Regent has a 44-year history of teaching a gospel that can engage the whole world with intellectual depth, making Regent especially poised to make an impact. Students who gain a global perspective on Christianity through their time here influence the communities, churches, non-profits, and business ventures they engage with for years to come.

Imagine the influence of our over 17,000 former students and graduates who now live in over 100 countries around the world and work in various vocations in the marketplace, the arts, creation care and environment, social justice, missions, the church, and the academy.

Sarah Breuel is one such recent graduate. She came from Brazil to study in Vancouver, and now lives and works in Rome, Italy. Watch her story below.

Master of Arts Concentration in World Christianity

Coming this Fall 2013, graduate students in the MA in Theological Studies program will have the opportunity to choose from a new concentration in World Christianity.

Through this concentration, students gain a deeper understanding of the changing face of global Christianity and its implications for the ongoing development of Christian tradition worldwide. They immerse themselves in the study of Christianity, particularly in the Majority World where the gospel is rapidly expanding, as well as within the study of marginalized peoples in North America.

The goal is for students to be equipped as scholars and practitioners of the Christian faith in its local and global expressions.
