Senior Pastor, Cates Hill Chapel
BA Fine Arts (University Of Stellenbosch), DipCS, MCS (Regent College), DTh (University Of Stellenbosch)
James Krohn was born in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and spent his childhood falling in love with the African bush. Initially setting his sights on becoming a wildlife veterinarian, he later changed degrees to study Fine Art (with an emphasis on Illustration and Graphic Design). Following some years in University Ministry and as Conceptual Illustrator and Designer in the professional advertising world, he turned to Theology. His Masters Degree in Systematic and Historical Theology was completed under Professor JI Packer at Regent College, and his Doctorate at Stellenbosch University focused on Calvin’s Trinitarian Vision.
Returning to South Africa, Dr. Krohn taught theology for more than a decade at two of South Africa’s most respected theological colleges, the Bible Institute of South Africa and George Whitefield College, both in the Western Cape. He has delivered papers at international conferences and published on John Calvin as biblical theologian in accredited theological journals. He has also been a keynote speaker at several academic and Christian conferences. Currently, James Krohn is pastoring an independent evangelical church, Cates Hill Chapel, on Bowen Island in British Columbia, Canada.
