Andy Heng Kian Wai was appointed General Manager and Legal Person of Bank of Montreal (China) Co. Ltd. Guangzhou Branch since November 2014. In this role, he is responsible for the bank’s overall financial performance, risk management and business operations. He has served as Bank of Montreal China’s Chief Administrative Officer in Beijing from 2010 to 2014.
Prior to this, Andy worked as Senior Business Planning Manager, Head of Deposits and Transaction Banking, and Wealth Management with Standard Chartered Bank in Shanghai and Singapore, Quality Assurance Manager in Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, Singapore and Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Malaysia.
Andy has a Master in Theology from Trinity Theological College, Singapore, researching the objectives, activities and impacts of London Missionary Society in the Straits Settlements (1815-1842). He has a Master of Christian Studies from Regent College, Vancouver, and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He has taught at Theological Center of Asia and Assemblies of God Bible College, both in Singapore.
Andy has served in churches in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore. Since moving to China in 2007 as a foreign talent, he continued to minister and witness as lay leader in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
Andy is a recipient of Guangdong Special Talent Merits (2019) and Guangzhou Senior Financial Management Awards (2016, 2017).
Andy currently resides in Guangzhou, together with his wife, Chai Ling. They have three sons, Hesed, Kohen and Enosh.
