Preaching the Gospel in the Land of the Gospels

Please note: This course is associated with a tour with Christian Journeys. Participation in the tour is necessary to complete course requirements. See below for more details.

The journey is now full, with an active wait list. Please still send your registration to Christian Journeys. Should space become available, we will accept newcomers in priority order of registration. We also anticipate a future journey, where this year's waitlisted registrants will be given priority. Stay tuned!

The Holy Land, experienced firsthand, enriches the faith and Biblical understanding of all who visit. For those called to ministry, this experience is particularly valuable. Some have called the land "The Fifth Gospel," and indeed, as we travel there, we anticipate reading the dust and stones, thorns and trees, water and wilderness in such a way as to enliven both our faith and our preaching.

This travel course is designed particularly for pastors and those called to pastoral ministry, along with their spouses. We will visit many of the places where Jesus preached, taught, healed, and accomplished his great salvation. We will explore the implications of preaching the gospel as a result of spending time in the Land where the gospel was born. As we travel, we will hear Scripture taught right where it was lived and written, enjoying personal blessing and communal enrichment. We will leave better equipped for ministry.

Supplementing the lectures by Professor Johnson will be Bronwyn Spilsbury (director and pastoral host), Dr. Yossi Paz (historian and anthropologist), and faculty from the Bethlehem Bible College and Seminary. All with a pastoral call, along with their spouses, are welcome to join this journey.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

This course incorporates two parts with separate registration requirements:

  1. A tour with Christian journeys; and
  2. A Regent College course that builds on the tour and incorporates extra coursework. This course can be taken for one academic credit only; there is no audit option.

Participants in the tour are not required to take the course, but must do so if they wish to receive academic credit for the journey. The course incorporates both the journey and extra coursework.

Everyone registered for the Christian Journeys tour is guaranteed a spot in the course if they wish to take it; however, they must complete separate registration processes for the tour and the course.

1. Tour Registration:

Participation in the Christian Journeys tour is a course requirement. Students will be dropped from the Regent College course if they do not also register for the tour.

Registration for the tour is now open. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend registering for the tour as soon as possible. Tour registration is managed by Christian Journeys, not by Regent College. See the registration form and brochure below for more details.
