Welcome to our help guide for users of the Regent College website. Please user this tool first to search out answers to any problems you might be experiencing when using this site. If the solution is not here please feel free to e-mail the College webmaster.
If the Regent website looks very odd to you (e.g. text way too spread out, big gaps if paragraphs, graphics messed up, etc.) it's very likely you are using an out-of-date browser. A good example of such a browser is Netscape Navigator 4.x. While once the browser of choice for many people, it is a web designer's nightmare, being completely out-of-sync with most recognized web design standards (yes, they do indeed exist). If you are still using any Netscape 4.x product (the last of which appeared in 1999) and wish to view this site the way it was designed we strongly suggest you upgrade to a newer web browser (see the links below.
What browser should you use? Our website should work on all modern browsers, but we have tested it on the following, all of which are available to download for free. For your convenience we have provided links directly to the download pages:
For PC/Windows users:
Internet Explorer (ver. 5.0 or higher)
Netscape Navigator (version 7.0 or higher)
Mozilla (version 1.5 or higher)
Also tested on Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird browsers
For Mac Users :
Internet Explorer (ver. 5.0 or higher)
Mozilla (version 1.5 or higher)
Also tested on Mozilla's Firefox, Thunderbird and Camino browsers
Our
website makes extensive use of Adobe Acrobat or, Portable Document Format (PDF)
files. Acrobat is the standard for distribution and exchange of electronic
documents and forms around the world. PDF is a universal file format that preserves
the fonts, images, graphics, and layout of any source document, regardless
of the application and platform used to create it. The PDF Reader software
is available free from Adobe. For more information click here.
There are three main sections to the regent-college.edu. The first is a purble bar along the top, which links to basic information and tools about the the site and the College, as well as links to other related Regent websites. Next is a series of gold buttons that link to the main sections of the website (e.g. the Prospective Students section). Once in these sections the left hand sidebar lists all the main parts to that particular section. When clicked on, these links will expand to show sub-sections within that main part. In addition we have provided a search tool that can be very useful in finding information on the site.
We have tried to make the site as easy to navigate as possible, but it you have experiencing difficulty please feel free to contact us.
If you happen to come aross a "Page Not Found" error please let us know about it. It could be that the link goes to an outdated page that been removed, in which case we would change or delete the link. It may also be that the link is pointing to the wrong page. In either case you can be a great service to the web department at Regent (and to all the visitors to our site) if you inform us about the problem.
