Choose the Type of Gift
It’s your gift. That means you decide if, when, and how you give it. If you are considering making a donation, feel free to browse the several ways that exist to support the Writing the Next Chapter campaign, and identify the one that works for you.
All Canadian or U.S. donors to the Writing the Next Chapter campaign will receive a receipt for income tax purposes. However, the type of gift you give will determine when the tax savings can be realized.
If you live outside the U.S. or Canada and wish to contribute to the campaign please choose one of the options below and read the International Gifts section.
A One Time Gift
A one-time gift provides immediate support for the Next Chapter campaign, with no further obligation. This simple gift option has the advantage of offering the donor tax-savings for the current tax year.
You can make a one-time gift immediately by credit card using our secure on-line server, by mail or telephone.
Monthly or Annual Pledges
A pledge is a gift commitment that is intended to be paid over a period of time: several months, a year or several years. When making a pledge, you can specify when payments will begin and the frequency with which they will occur (i.e., monthly or annually).
This flexible giving option may enable a donor to consider a larger gift than would have been otherwise possible, by allowing the payments to be spread over time. Donors are entitled to income tax deductions when pledge payments are made, to the full extent provided by law.
Planned Gifts & Other Gifts
A planned gift may be outright or deferred. It may be made through a will, retirement plan, real estate, life insurance policy or other capital assets. Deferred gifts often provide the most attractive benefits to the donor. Deferred gifts include bequests, gift plans that generate income during one's lifetime, trusts that pay income to a charity and remainder interests in a personal residence.
